Where it started

The garment mass production started in Manchester, UK in the 18th century.

The factories were unsafe and there was little to no regulations around working conditions, but after many years of suffering government had to close down these factories.

Although, like almost any other labour-intense production it moved outside of the developed countries into some of the poorest countries on earth with arguably worse working conditions.

So we don’t see it in our neighbourhoods but it's still happening. The solution?

Just ask who made it before buying.
